INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITY
New Year Celebration in Four Countries
This activity, titled “New Year Celebration in Four Countries,” is centered around Sustainable Development Goal 10, aiming to foster an understanding within the school community of how the New Year is celebrated in Nigeria, India, China, and South Korea, as well as the significance of these celebrations.
Students involved in this activity conducted extensive research, and later on interviewed teachers, parents, staff, and fellow students to gather information on the significance of New Year celebrations in the selected countries, including the socioeconomic changes that occur during this period of celebration.

Dansol High School students collaborated with one of our partner schools, Silas International School, India, via a Zoom meeting to share and exchange ideas on their findings about New Year celebrations in the four sampled countries. Additionally, Silas International School created drama skits showcasing how New Year is celebrated in India, which were shared with our school. The insights gained from this collaboration further convinced the students that New Year celebrations indeed strengthen relationships and family bonds worldwide.
Furthermore, some students created videos documenting their transition from New Year’s Eve (31st December 2023) into the New Year (1st January 2024).
